| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation contains the study and interpretation of 2D seismic reflection data of selected seismic lines of Sinjhoro area, Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan. The main objective of this research was delineation of subsurface structures favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation. This area is situated in the Sanghar District of Sindh Province and is licensed to Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDCL). The seismic data for this dissertation was provided by the Land Mark Resources (LMKR) by the permission of Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC). The data comprised four seismic lines, base map and well tops of well DOSA X-01. The names of lines obtained are: (86-KH-95, 86-KH-18, 86-KH-19 and 86-KH-20) One prominent reflector (red) is marked on the basis of it’s reflection character. It represents Kohat Limestone Formation. Two-way time (TWT) was read from the seismic sections and average velocities were used to create TWT and Depth Contour maps. Petrophysical analysis of Kohat Limestone Formation shows that from 4400 to 4420 m and 4600 to 4640 m,has less volume of shale, high effective porosity, high permeability, low water saturation and high hydrocarbon saturation making it a good reservoir but due to very less thickness of available reservoir it is not economical. | en_US |
