dc.description.abstract A petrophysical interpretation has been made with the help of wireline logs in the Miano gas field, Middle Indus Basin, Pakistan. SP log, Resistivity log, Density log, Sonic log, Neutron log, Gamma ray log and Caliper log are used. The rock parameters which have been used for petrophysical interpretations are shale volume, primary porosity, secondary porosity, total porosity, effective porosity, water saturation, hydrocarbon saturation, porosity and water saturation and permeability. The producing reservoir is Lower Goru Formation in Miano-2 and Miano-3 well. The ‘C’ interval of Miano-2 acts as reservoir. The Miano-2 well is gas bearing well. Petrophysical interpretation shows about 40% hydrocarbons are present in Miano-2. While in the Miano-3 well petrophysical analysis shows 65% water, rest of percentage is of hydrocarbon. The pinch out formations and variation in thickness are confirmed by the stratigraphic correlation between Miano-2 and Miano-3. en_US
