dc.description.abstract The case study based research work intends to study the barriers faced by women in their career progression. Careers, for women in Pakistan reflect the complex interplay of many factors, which fall into various basic categories. They are made up of social, cultural, traditional and religious elements. The research identifies three key themes, Human Resource Management (HRM); organizational culture, and family issues that affect women's careers. The information gathered in this study will be able to assist in order to understand the types of barriers that are faced by women in their careers, and how these affect them. The findings of the study will provide an opportunity to inform recommendations and actively identify and encourage change within the organizations. Primary data was collected by distributing first hand questionnaires and conducting interviews with seven selected females, who are high ranked and successfully running their careers. Secondary data source was internet, journals, past trends, past researches, etc. This research paper, comprising of 160 pages has been supervised by Mr. Chaudry Fazle-Muqeem. Organizations and employers should believe that women today are excelling in every field and hold an equally competitive status at work; hence organizations should establish a conducive work environment for female employees, which facilitate their career progression. en_US
