dc.description.abstract ALI MEDICAL CENTRE is a private medium scale hospital. A doctor made it in the late 1980’s. The hospital was bought by a businessman a couple of years ago, whose sole interest was not only money making but also to serve humanity. Patients treated here at ALI MEDICAL CENTRE are confident of the competency of the doctors; the hygienic conditions and the after operation care by the medical staff. The hospital however is facing some management and administrative problems that have been briefly listed below.  All the work is done manually.Important papers e.g. some pages in a patient’s medical history can get lost or misplaced.The accounts are not handled properly.Appointment process is very time consuming and lengthy.Keeping the manual records is not only time consuming but also increases the workload of the hospital staff.The hospitals strategic level is being affected by these problems as the revenues are falling due to lack of the smooth handling of the hospital operations and patient’s dissatisfaction over current handling of their medical records. The current system needs to be enhanced and the problems mentioned above need to be dealt with immediately otherwise the situation may get out hand and cause everlasting damage to the reputation of the hospital. Our objective is to provide a well-controlled and integrated management system, to provide information helpful for the medical staff and also the management. Facilitating quick information retrieval through various queries and related reports and also to allow view of the same data in different angles as required by the management en_US
