Abstract:
Career Planning and Management (CPM) has appeared to be one of the fastest developing areas within the broad field of Human Resource Management (HRM). Couple of years ago the term HRM was unknown to the organizations now many organizations specially in Banking industry have truly realized the fact that effective Human Resource Management can provide them the path to the solutions for employee related problems. As the industry is in the phase of growth many banks are emphasizing on the training but this cannot provide them the right solution of problems like employee turnover, employee motivation, employee’s performance etc.
Today career planning and management has become the one of the most important function of HRM. The organizations who are investing in their employees are getting the long-term benefits. The career development is not only the responsibility of employees, the organizations has also some duties to accomplish in this regard. The organization can provide the career planning and management techniques such as mentoring, counseling, coaching for the future, career advancement toolkit etc.
The present study tries to analyze the gap in the Banking Industry in the context of Career Planning & Management in Banking Industry, Pakistan. It is very important for the organization to consider that for the required performance and motivation level from the employee that effective Career Planning & Management system has been establish.
