Abstract:
Employee commitment towards the job coupled with the satisfaction and high
employee performance is needed for the organization to be successful and to
deliver the value in the services that it provides or the products that it
manufactures. Higher levels of satisfaction and commitment are a result of an
internal perception of the employee about the organization that shows the level of
investment that the organization is ready to make on the employees. To
materialize this investment, organizations use the element of training and
development to target the skill enhancement of the employees and the ability to
perform the job with less constraints and more productivity. This research project
focuses on the empirical investigation that signifies the relationship between the
training types and programs in relation with the employee performance and the
level of commitment and satisfaction that the employees show towards their
assigned job. The target of the research study is the Telecom sector which is
selected to highlight the importance of training programs and the telecom sector is
known to have a good level of employee training protocols on a regular basis
which is why the research targeted the sector to cater the needs of the employees
and the level of commitment that the employees are expected to exercise during
the natural course of work. Through sampling the employees of the telecom
sector, the researcher highlights the current practices of the sector and uses that
information to provide suitable recommendations for other sectors that are
struggling with employee management processes.
