dc.description.abstract The present research is conducted in order to investigate the mental health of the spouses of cardiovascular patients and spouses of normal individuals. IPAT ANXIETY and IPAT DEPRESSION scales were administered to 200 spouses and they were asked to mention their demographic data. 200 participants were divided in to two groups out of which 100 spouses were of the patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and 100 spouses were of the normal individuals. These groups were further divided according to the gender differences. There were 50 wives of cardiovascular patients, 50 wives of normal individuals, 50 husbands of cardiovascular patients and 50 husbands of normal wives. Chi - square test was applied for the statistical analysis of the data. Tha results of the present study show that the Spouses anxious of cardiovascular patients are more depressed and than the spouses of normal individuals. en_US
