dc.description.abstract We the students of Bahria University, from the discipline of MBA (HR); have conducted this research project under the direct supervision of Ms. Sarwat Bilal. This research work is contributed to investigate one of the crucial issues prevailing in the developmental sector of Pakistan and specifically among the NGO’s of Islamabad. In this regard we conducted a thorough, genuine and valid research in our sample size of four middle sized NGO’s of Islamabad. We distributed questionnaires and gathered responses from interviews also. The outcome of this whole effort is that the absence of career planning and inappropriate job design directly contributes to poor performance of employees against set standards and they intend to leave the organization as soon as the availability of same pace job in the sector. We have formulated this comprehensive report of above 70 pages to adhere to the problem of career planning and its impact on NGO sector of Islamabad. We concluded that detailed career planning and proper job design contributes directly to the increased level of motivation among employees and their improved performance. Recommendations for this exploratory study are focused on proper training and development programs, performance management system and career path setting for top level employees. en_US
