Abstract:
As a part of final project we were assigned to study the merger of Asset Investment bank into Invest capital & securities. Working as a team we were two members in total: Muhammad Aamir Siddiqui, Ahmed Nawaz. We chose this topic to work on because we wanted to contribute out efforts towards the betterment of Pakistan, as a nation and as a country. Comparing Pakistan with the countries like India, China, Japan and other developing nation where investment banking is flourishing, we came to the conclusion that Pakistan is not even counted as a player in this field, whereas this industry offered the most potential for Pakistan to generate jobs and earn foreign exchange. The cause of Pakistan lacking behind in this field is basically due non consistency in the policies. But being a patriot nation we expect that the government should take notice and do well. After the long time the foreign investor showing there interest in the financial market of Pakistan. That why the scope of investment banking is increased in Pakistan. Hence Invest Cap securities being the top brokerage house decided to convert into the pure investment bank. So Invest Cap merge into the Asset investment Bank which was one of the emerging investment bank in the financial market of Pakistan. In this project we study the prospect of Investment banking in Pakistan and scope of Invest Capital investment bank after the result of merger.
