Abstract:
The objective of this study is to find out the impact of effective training practices on the
performance of employee in the public sector of Pakistan. Training practices was the
independent variable of the study and dependent variable was performance of employee. There
were six dimensions of performance of employee taken in this study which includes: Senior
performance of employee, junior performance of employee, Married performance of employee,
Unmarried performance of employee, Male performance of employee and Female performance
of employee. Training is the major factor effecting the skills, attitudes and abilities of employees
.In this study researcher follows positivist philosophy and deductive research approach is used
and the Quantitative and qualitative approaches of researchers applied. The unit of Analysis
was the Public sector of Pakistan .Primary data was collected via questionnaire from the
sample of 150 respondents distributed among employees, high, middle and low level managers
of human resource and finance department to find out that whether employee training exists and
what is its impact on performance of employee. For the quantitative data analysis, validity and
reliability analysis Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and SPSS was used. The selected company for
collecting data was Pakistan International airline (PIA) Islamabad, this very important for PIA
that their employees are highly skilled and consequently to find out the role of training in
enhancing their skills. Over all the result of this study shows that effective training practices
augment the moral, behaviour and attitude of employees towards their job. By enhancing skills,
attitude and expertise of employees and they get new chances to promote in organization and
training practices have their objective to augment their skills and effectiveness. It is not sure that
training practices will increase the job satisfaction of employees, but they lead to maximize their
productivity, enhance their skills , quality of work , improve the skills of employees to use and
cope with technological changes in the organization and external environments , decrease their
waste accidents and time , turnover , absenteeism and other over head cost for organization.
Therefore it can be concluded that effective training practices increase the performance of
employee in organization.
