Abstract:
Employee retention is one of the most important factors
that can help employers increase organization
performance. This study discusses that employee retention
can be achieved through the provision of family friendly
policies that is flexible work practices. This study
investigated the link between the provision of flexible
schedule arrangements and organization commitment and the
provision of flexible leave arrangements and turnover
intentions. A quantitative approach was followed to
conduct the research through questionnaires. These
quetionnaires are distributed among 100 employees of a
telecom company. The analysis showed that flexible
schedule arrangements increase organization commitment
and flexible leave arrangements are negatively related to
turnover intentions but not to a significant level. It
is recommended that flexible work culture should be
promoted throughout the organizations and these
arrangements should be designed according to the employee
and job preferences for this will help retain talented
employees in the organization.
