A Study of the Appraisal Systems of a Local and a Foreign Bank: A Case of Two Banks

Abstract

Inking industry is facing a hyper turbulent situation lere banks have to operate i n increasingly competitive and ~plex local and global markets. The ability to compete in lP fast-paced global environment is of paramount )rtance -survival of the fittest being the name of the e. The competition has become even more tough and challenging with the entry of foreign world class banks and :her financial institutions. With these facts in mind, it particularly important t o take into account the element Human Resource o f these organizations . The greater the -el of consideration given to the Human Resource of a n anization, the mo re dedicated its employees will be . before, it is important to keep track of how the ,loyees are performing and cater to the area s where they cJpear to be lagging, and this purpose is achieved through ~ use of appraisal systems . In this research paper , the )praisal systems of a local and a foreign bank were taken nder study. The apprai s a l systems of two banks , MeB & ABN ·~O, we r e thoroughl y analyzed. The we aknesses and 1ngths of these systems were then subsequently , t ified. After the analysis of both t he appraisal ~ms, findings from this study we re conc l uded and Jmmendations were given in order to improve t he existing r aisal system o f both the banks.
