Abstract:
Human resource and management are generally a neglected phenomenon in most of the public and private organizations in Pakistan. However, with the arrival of Multinational Corporations (MNCs), a major shift has taken place in the work culture and local companies have been forced to pay heed to Human Resource Development/Management (HRD/M) to remain competitive. Furthermore challenging economic conditions have led to downsizing and right sizing, thus increasing dependence on highly trained and developed workforce. In this environment success may depend on reduced but fully trained workforce. Training and development has therefore, become one of the most important organizational activities as we prepare our valuable human resource for future challenges.
