dc.description.abstract The history of using computer for mapping and spatial data analysis shows that there have been parallel developments in automated data capture, data analysis, and presentation in several related fields. The tremendous development in the field of GIS has paved ways for new systems to be developed for finding place’s all around the world. These systems should typically be equipped with features like various methods to input the spatial data (Data Capturing Methods), then to find out the best possible route’s & the shortest of them selected & manipulated on the map. A GIS integrated vehicle monitoring system is capable of having an eye on many vehicles at the same time, traveling through different areas of the world, brought under a single map. GIS technology integrates common database operations such as query and statistical analysis with the unique visualization and geographic analysis benefits offered by maps. This system has been developed in Visual Basic language because of its easy implementation in ArcGis & ArcMap etc. The actor will be able to Log in to the system & keep a check on the current vehicles in the area. Assign vehicles on the Shortest Path basis to different customers that call for a vehicle. Also it has the ability to show the variations in a moving vehicle such as its speed & current position(Lat Long). The user of the system will get different facilities in using the software. He will get all the shortest routes to travel easily to his destination, also he will be able to find all the directions with left/right turn indications & distances to travel along. en_US
