| dc.description.abstract | Organizational performance is one of the most debated and researched areas in business sciences since all the activities of the organization eventually come down to the development of the organization and the increase in its performance against its peers in the market. There are various variables that an organization is influenced from and they can be intrinsic as well as extrinsic. These variables exert pressures on the organization extrinsically as well as intrinsically. With these pressures, the organizational management tries to counter these pressures through instigating work strategies which include cost cutting through laying off some employee or hiring fewer employees and through increasing the individual workload on the employees. This increase in workload and targets can cause the employees to be subject to work related stress, dissatisfaction from work and exhaustion which can reflect on their performance reports. The management normally uses this as an excuse to get rid of the ineffective employee but the truth is simple enough where the employees cannot work more than the capacity they have. With time, their activities show slack and their work outcomes decrease due to the exhaustion level. In this chapter, the prerequisites of the research will be discussed in order to understand the nature of the study and what will be studied through this research. The introduction is integral to a research process since it provides the basic layout of the research and provides with a complete concept of the study topic which will be elaborated in the preceding chapters. | en_US |
