dc.description.abstract Hegemony is a widely used term in International Relations. However, late Italian theoretician Antonio Gramsci has provided IR with a distinct understanding of the term „hegemony‟ that is the domination of a social class by the means of consent rather than coercion. This hegemony has internationalized and has become a world order in the present age. By analysing Gramscian theory with reference to international civil society, a great effect is visible on educational institutions in the world as a global form of education continues to dominate and hence aids the hegemonic world order. Such a setting causes states like Pakistan to follow in to the similar order where educational institutions facilitate the neoliberal agenda. This paper highlights such hegemony in education and analyses the subject with reference to Pakistan. en_US
