dc.description.abstract The basic aim of the study is to explore whether labor laws are implemented in the public service sector of Pakistan or not and if implemented, then how are they related to industrial safety. But it is also necessary that we probe into the industrial safety and see whether any rules and regulations regarding it are practiced in the public service sector or not. Industrial safety calls for researching about the industrial accidents and their causes as well. All this is explored with the help of qualitative methods of study. The focal point of the study is to investigate the stereotypical mind set which suggests that public sector organizations do not abide by the labor laws and the safety conditions there are poorly managed. The nature of study is exploratory in nature. Labor laws and industrial safety are quite vast topics which need detailed investigation. The research instrument which is used for gathering primary data is interviewing whereas material from journal articles and books are used as secondary data. The sampling procedure which is used is quota sampling and the sample size is 17, which is chosen from 3 public service sector organizations; KRL, CDA and WAPDA. Interviews are taken from these 17 respondents and 4 themes are generated from their interview excerpts which are also related to the research objectives. Findings show that labor laws are indeed followed in the public service sector organizations (chosen sample of 3; KRL, CDA and WAPDA), though the stereotypical thinking suggests otherwise. These laws normally comprise of minimum wage, minimum working hours and working conditions etc. Similarly, the conditions of industrial safety are also normal and fit for working in an organization just as the sample proposed. en_US
