Abstract:
In this thesis, an interference mitigation technique is proposed to maximize the overall throughput of the network and provide the desired QoS to different 5G mobile users. The network is modeled into two tiers. The first tier of the network (i.e., large cell or macrocell) covers wide range of communication while the second tier (i.e., small cell or femtocell) lies within the transmission range of the large cell. The purpose of small cell is to enhance the signal quality with higher data rates. A channel sharing mechanism is proposed, that allocate channels to large cell users and small cell users. Finally, the objective is to reduce the overall interference between the users, and maximize the network throughput.
Simulation results demonstrates the comparative analysis of the proposed schemes in terms of interference and throughput.
