Abstract:
Advertising has come to play a major part in society today. It gives consumers “information” about different products in the market, and gives people the opportunity to choose the products they want. In today’s society, advertising has a profound impact on how people understand life, the world and themselves. The field of advertising is extremely diverse and broad.
The report basically focuses on the concept of advertising, its definitions by different experts, types of advertising, roles played by it, its benefits, its classification and its purpose, that is to say that for what exactly advertising is used. Social, legal and ethical issues of advertising are of extreme importance and have to be taken care of while making an advertising strategy for any region. Importance of ethics has also been discussed in detail in the research report. Then the media of advertising g are also highlighted, showing different important advertising media, however here my main focus would be on electronic media.
As are the ethical issue important in advertising so is culture, and if we grade culture higher than any other issue related to advertising, it will not be false. Culture plays a vital role in making any advertisement campaign successful for a certain region. Advertisements that have cultural conflicts often fail to serve their purpose. In this respect the two main types of culture those to be kept in mind are high and low context cultures, their effects on advertising are also explained in detail in my report.When the issue of cultural differences come under study an
important issue related to it also then need to be discussed, that is Cross cultural advertising. There are different factors again on which cross cultural advertising depends and those factors play an important role making an advertising campaign successful cross culturally. These factors may include language, communication style and other related factors. An analysis of different advertisements just to find out that whether cross cultural advertising is successful or not has also been done in the research project.
To basically find out what are the main differences between Indian and Pakistani advertising, the first thing that has to be kept in mind is that what is the history of advertising in Pakistan, what were the trends in this industry and what is the future of advertising in Pakistan and then comparing it with Indian advertising.
There are certain issues associated with advertising in Pakistan, which according to the advertising agencies of Pakistan hinder their performance in terms of creativity and differentiation. Some other elements like culture, budgeting, creativity, focus on emotions etc.
