Abstract:
Central Asian region comprises of five states; Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This region holds significance for the entire world.
When the CARs got independence, the geo-political scenario has changed. By
knowing the fact that Central Asian states were land-locked and are dependent on
other states but still, all were focused on them for the export of energy reserves.
My RP briefly analyzes the interests of all the players in “New Great Game” individually.
The players included are United States, Russia, China, India, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan.
It also explains the relationship of Pakistan and Central Asian States. As, Pakistan shares
culture, geographical proximity, and multi-dimensional cooperation to Central Asian
states from the ancient times is a reason for Central Asia’s unique position in Pakistan’s
foreign policy. Pakistan got closer to these states for its interests since their
independence; to meet the demand of energy needs, and to increase the trade.
Besides this, my RP briefly gives the limitations to Pakistan in the region and the
challenges to it. The concluding part of the R.P would give my analysis and
recommendations regarding how Pakistan should formulate its foreign policy towards the
Central Asian States.
