dc.description.abstract After war on terrorism, world faces new threat in the form of Iran nuclear program. Iran never accepted the allegation of producing nuclear weapons under the cover of civilian nuclear program.US again and again claimed that Iran is working on nuclear weapons under the cover of civilian program. The main reason behind this nuclear proliferation is horizontal proliferation. US, Israel, EU, China and Russia feel threats from Iran nuclear quest and for this reason supports US and NPT to stop Iran from becoming Nuclear weapon state.US and Israel can never accept Iranian nuclear program. Iran on the other hand, is not ready to accept that its working on nuclear weapons and cannot halt its processing program. NPT and IAEA are trying to stop Iran. US and Iran are also not ready to come at one platform for table talks. It is predicted that Iran can go nuclear in coming years by escaping NPT’s punishment as North Korea did. EU has adopted a little soft approach whereas US have strict approach which is making talks difficult. China and Russia have their own interest in Iran issue that’s why they are trying to negotiate with Iran. It’s been more than 12 years this issue is going on but now it’s a serious issue for world peace and stability. As horizontal proliferation can lead to more nuclear weapon states which can result in instability and security threats. en_US
