Child Sexual abuse (CSA) has become a worldwide social problem and takes place inconsiderately of all social, economic, cultural, geographical, religious, and educational backgrounds. In Pakistan, child sexual abuse has started becoming a major social problem. Each year several children become victims of child sexual abuse and the number of victims is rapidly increasing. Several Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are working for safety and security of children from child sexual abuse and further victimization in future. However, unfortunately, statistical information and reports reflect that despite the efforts by organizations the problem still persists. Statistical analyses show that perhaps the strategies adopted by these organizations lack some important aspects that might have addressed the issue more efficaciously. Therefore, this research closely examines various dimensions (i.e. meaning, implications, and strategies) of child sexual abuse which organizations focus on while considering Sahil (a non-governmental organization exclusively working on child sexual abuse) as a case study so that researcher gains an in-depth understanding of the issue. Additionally, this research analyzes methods/strategies being utilized by organizations in treating child sexual abuse victims. Furthermore, the researcher develops a holistic treatment model by using best practices/strategies from around the globe to ensure efficacious addressing of child sexual abuse. |
