dc.description.abstract Poultry is one of the largest sectors of the domestic economy. Similarly a lot of periphery businesses are associated with it. Pharmaceutical industry is also one of the closest affiliate to this sector. Like many Pakistani setups, this particular sector is also suffering from a chronic ailment which has surfaced in the form of Human Resource lapses. The organization selected for this study (VETEC Laboratories – Manufacturer of pharmaceutical products for poultry industry) is facing poor employee performance, on job conflicts, redundancy and turnover which is resulting in poor business performance. This project aims at covering aspects related to job descriptions and their effects on employee and business performance within the domestic SME setting. The research aims at justifying the need for proper job descriptions for various positions within VETEC Laboratories. Alongside having their physical existence, they need to be put in everyday use in order to overcome all employee related issues. A happy and motivated workforce would in turn be productive which would result in profitability and expansion of VETEC Laboratories. Job descriptions are means of accountability and transparency. They also help in addressing the menace of redundancy which translates into positive operating profits of any given business. The proposed Job Descriptions are expected to yield the same results at VETEC laboratories. en_US
