dc.description.abstract Meyal field is located in district Attock near Pindi Gheb, 110 km southwest of Islamabad, bounded by latitudes 33°16'43'' and Longitude 72°08'01''′ E and is a part of the Meyal block which lies in the central part of Potwar plateau of Upper Indus basin. Meyal-05P well is part of the Meyal block which lies in the central part of Potwar plateau of Upper Indus basin. The Kalachitta-Margalla Ranges are in the north and the Salt Range is in the south. The Indus River and the Jhelum/Soan rivers are passing on its western and eastern sides respectively. A number of active surface as well as subsurface structural features dominate this part of Potwar plateau. Petrophysical evaluation of well meyal-5P carried out to highlight the reservoir area which included the selection of zone of interest followed by Log interpretation. The volume of shale, porosity and density was interpreted. On the basis of Petrophysical Evaluation it was noted that carbonate reservoirs of Chorgali was contributing as one reservoir zones in the area. Results claim that hydrocarbon saturated formations present in Meyal-5P which is limestone present in the Chorgali formations.Chorgali Formation has PHI E 8.12%, Vsh 15.3%, Sw 17.1%, Sh 82.8%.Chorgali has a bigger contribution as reservoir on the basis of porosity calculation. Chorgali Formation is zone of interest as a reservoir due toeffective porosity. en_US
