Employee satisfaction like turnover traditionally has been a measuring cup of HR successes. Employee is the most critical factor for achieving business excellence. It is therefore crucial that the industries put more attention on the employee satisfaction. Satisfied employees can increase performance in job, increase productivity, lower absenteeism, provide better customer services and better moral. The main motive of this study was to define employee satisfied and performance measure it and examine the different facets that influence job satisfaction and its effect on employee performance. Hence, this research established a complete model of employee satisfaction and employee performance, and used an actual example to confer the relationship between employee satisfaction and performance.
The questionnaire measured the employee satisfaction level of the employees within the human resource department with regard to various facets influencing job satisfaction such as overall satisfaction on one’s job, work conditions, communication, co-workers, pay, supervisors, career development and training. The performance dimensions used were quality of work, time management, dependability, team work, personal development and attitude. The employees themselves appraised their individual performance on the above dimensions.
The methodology used for research was a combination of both secondary data as well as primary data. The data analysis was carried out using the simple percentage method. Each dimension discussed separately calculating the favorable percentage on each question. |
