dc.description.abstract Badin area is a common example of extensional tectonics represented by Horst & Graben structures. In order to carry out the structural interpretation of Badin area, two seismic dip lines and one strike line are interpreted. ‘Two Way Time Structure’ and ‘Depth Structure’ mapping helped in delineating the structural trend and understanding the tectonics of the area. Subsurface mapping reveals that major fault trend is NW-SE. There are indications of reactivation of faults indicating the occurrence of various tectonic periods. Existing structural trend of the area provides basic components of a profile petroleum system. Reservoir characterization is done for Jabo-01 well. Zone of interest is the Upper Sand package in Lower Goru. Porosity calculations were made to find out the water and hydrocarbon saturation. The main constituents of petroleum system are present, proven by a number of oil and gas discoveries in the past, but there is still a requirement of advance techniques to improve seismic resolution and quality of interpretation. Utilizing the seismic and petrophysical interpretation, the location of the development and production well will be marked at the crestal location of Upper Sand. Also, evaluation of the lead marked in Middle Sand will be made, before finalizing it as a valid prospect for drilling. en_US
