dc.description.abstract The study is performed to structurally and sequence stratigraphically analyze the Ghauspur area of Central Indus Basin, which lies under the Sukkur exploration license. Geologically the area is present in the Panu Aqil graben, on its west Kirthar fold belt, on its east is Mari Kandkot high, Sulaiman fold belt on its North and Khairpur Jacobabad high on south. Five seismic lines and data of two exploratory wells are used for the purpose. Horizons are marked for structural interpretation, using the TD chart. The horizons marked are Sui upper Limestone, Sui main Limestone, Pab Sandstone and Chiltan Limestone. Two way time structure maps are prepared, Depth structure maps are prepared using velocity analysis on each seismic line. Well correlations are prepared using mean sea level and Pab sandstone as reference datums for understanding thickness trends. Sequence analysis is performed over the siliclastic ranikot formation, the Gamma Ray and Sonic logs and the standard log motifs. It is further matched over with the seismic. The Sui Main Limestone and Pab Sandstone reservoirs are characterized using neutron, density, resistivity and gamma ray logs. Pab sandstone proves to be tight reservoir sands whereas Sui Main Limestone is a water wet reservoir. The area has potential for further study with larger data set in hand. en_US
