| dc.description.abstract | Meyal field is located in district Attock near Pindi Gheb, 110 km south west of Islamabad, bounded by latitudes 33o11′-33o22′ N and longitudes 71o59′-72o18′ E and is a part of the Meyal block which lies in the central part of Potwar plateau of Upper Indus basin. Well tops and well logs of Meyal-6 and Meyal-10 were acquired from Landmark Resources (LMKR) with the prior approval from the Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC). The foremost objective was to have an insight about the petrophysical characteristics of the area. Petrophysical evaluation is carried out to highlight the reservoir area which included the selection of zone of interest followed by log interpretation. The volume of shale, hydrocarbon saturation, permeability, effective porosity and water saturation were interpreted. On the basis of petrophysical evaluation it was noted that carbonate of Chorgali and Sakesar formations are contributing as reservoir zones in the area. | en_US |
