| dc.description.abstract | The never ending thirst for energy resources in the world has triggered new challenges for the oil industry; It is the need of the hour to make exploration efficient accurate and more cost effective to meet the energy needs. In order to achieve this cause new tools and techniques must be incorporated with the conventional hydrocarbon exploration techniques. Geographical information systems and remote sensing can be one such technique which holds great potential. Various researches have been carried out around the world in which Gis and RS has been integrated with seismic exploration techniques to improve the accuracy and cost effectiveness of oil exploration projects. This Research focuses on the same area in which seismic exploration has been integrated with GIS and RS for hydrocarbon Exploration. The development of such a geo-database will enable the professionals to study the data with ease as it is available in one comprehensive database, It will render the planning and development more effective due to efficient analysis and strategizing, The biggest advantage being the integration of all geophysical, geographical, surface and subsurface datasets , Which can greatly improve the exploration accuracy and also make it very cost efficient. | en_US |
