dc.description.abstract The basic aim of this study is to find the types of workplace conflict prevalent in Relief International. The study also focuses on the underlying causes and the negative effects of workplace conflict on the organization. A Likert scale questionnaire is designed to collect the datea from the target sample of thirty employees from three field offices of the organization. The respondents are tacitly asked their level of agreement to the Likert items i.e. statements inquiring about the type of workplace conflict. 64% employees are on consensus that there is process conflict in the organization, while 39% employees are of the view that there is relationship conflict and 27% agreed that there is task conflict. After singling out the type of conflict, its underlying causes are investigated. The meticulous study of the data provided by the HR department of Relief international suggests that the brief and vague job descriptions of the employees are prime cause of the problem. It has been suggested in the future enhancements that the organization should review its job analysis techniques and formulate detailed job descriptions keeping in view the cultural milieu of the organization’s host country. The study recommends some general techniques of workplace conflict management as well to cope up the current situation faced by the organization. The study has categorized into following chapters: chapter one is introduction, chapter two identifies the problem and requirement analysis, chapter three focuses on design and implementation, chapter four shows the results, chapter five investigates the causes of problem, chapter six recommends future enhancements, chapter seven proposes action plan, chapter eight discuses the limitations of the project and last but not the least concludes the study. en_US
