| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this dessertation is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Fimkassar well-02. Geographically Fimkassar well-02 well is located at 33⁰4 33 N and 72⁰56 46 E at at a distance of about 75km to the southwest of Islamabad. Tectonically Fimkassar well-02 lies at the South of MBT and north of SRT in Upper Indus basin.Mostly anticlines structures and reverse faults are present in the area of study and the rocks ranging from Paleocene to Miocene are present.Sakesar limestone (Eocene) and Chorgali formation (Eocene) are the proven reservoirs of Fimkassar well-02.Toevaluate the potential of these two reserviors physical properties were calculated and analysed using petrophysical analysis. Three zones, two at the level of Sakesar limestone and one at Chorgali formation were marked. Out of three zones, zone 1 ranging from 2905-2913m of Chorgali formation comes out to be potential zone with highest effective porosity 11.10% due to presence of fractures. Although total thickness of this zone is less than other zones but it is showing good hydrocarbon saturation of 65.44% which is economical. | en_US |
