Abstract:
Auctioning is a process of selling and buying services goods through bidding process. In auctioning people can participate in bidding process by placing bids and finally auctioned product is delivered to the winning bidder (highest bidder). Online Auction System is the modeling of traditional auctioning system into a computer application. This project makes auctioning process more effective and efficient, by providing online platform for sellers and buyers, making ease for sellers to place products for bids online and for buyers to participate inbidding online without visiting auctioning places physically. Traditional auctioning requires all bidders to participate at the specified time, tying up each bidder for the entire length of the auction. The existing system has following drawbacks like: wastage of time, traveling cost, need physical presence at auctioning place and many other expenses. Our developed website will save time as it allows customers to place bids and view the bids placed by other customers online, so no need to visit auctioning places. Hence it makes the auctioning process flexible and efficient. System will be available around the clock. Our developed system has following eight Modules: User Management, Customer Management, E-mail Management, Product Bidding, Purchase Management,AndReports. Administrator has a privilege to add, delete and search the customers,products and bids. All these modules are tested for both admin and client side. Tools and technologies used in this project are Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop,Apache2triad(for Web Server), PHP, MySQL.
