Abstract:
Migrated seismic lines O-942-GJN-37, O-932-GJN-38, O-942-GJN-39, O-942-GJN-40
and O-952-GJN-53 of Gujar Khan area were obtained from Directorate General of
Petroleum Concessions(DGPC) for seismic interpretation and Well Logs of well KAL-01
were obtained for petrophysical evaluation. The information required was given within
the time section, which was helpful in the conversion of the time section into depth
section. These calculations helped in subsurface interpretation of the area, which was the
basic purpose of this project
Three reflectors were marked ChorgaliFormation, Lockhart Formation and Khewra
Sandstone. Faults were marked, and then time contour maps were generated. The major
cause have been the thrust faults in the area thatform pop up structure.
Petrophysical evaluation of KAL-01was carried out to highlight the reservoir area which
included the selection of zone of interest followed by Log interpretation. The volume of
shale, sand, porosity was interpreted. On the basis of Petrophysical evaluation it was
noted that hydrocarbons and the reservoir of Cambrian (Khewra Sandstone) is of good
porosity and is hydrocarbon bearing.
