dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study is to evaluate hydrocarbon potential of the study area, in a part of Upper Indus basin i.e. delineation of potential leads for future prospects. This has to be done by the analysis of 2-D seismic line, this data set comprises with 5 seismic lines. The methodology adopted to accomplish this task includes; structural and stratigraphic interpretation of seismic data, 2-D seismic modeling and rock physics analysis. Seismic data analysis includes identification and marking of the different Lithological horizons and names them according to the depths after correlation with the well data. The same seismic data was also used to analyze the rock physical parameters and 2-D seismic modeling. The results computed from all above mentioned analysis of the data was used for the integrated study regarding reservoir characterization of the area under study. Rock physical analysis is done on the bases of the computed value of poison ratio, bulk modulus, shear modulus, lame’s constant, Vp:Vs and density along the seismic lines. These properties determine the character in the subsurface. en_US
