Abstract:
This thesis aims to study the impact of information sharing on supply chain
performance in the carpet industry of Pakistan. This research aimed to reach a
conclusion on whether investment in information sharing systems resulted in adequate
benefits and improved supply chain performance. International and national literature
on information sharing, supply chain performance and the carpet industry of Pakistan
was reviewed. Through this, different variables that enable effective information
sharing on the supply chain were identified. On the basis of these, quantitative data
was collected from respondents through the aid of questionnaires. This was then
analyzed on the basis of frequency, interrelation with other variables and findings
from secondary research. It was concluded that all the partners on the Pakistani carpet
industry supply chain understood the benefits of information sharing however; little
was being done to reap them.
