dc.description.abstract The core objectives of the study were to evaluate the level of organizational commitment in selected industry (telecom) in Pakistan, and to examine and spot the factors that correlate and predict the organizational commitment. The sample for this study comprised of 50 employees taken through random sampling of various organizations of the industry. The results proved that majority of employees had high level of organizational commitment and were truly loyal to their organization. All the organizational practices appeared to be strong predictors of organizational commitment where as from the four personal characteristics two f them (position and education) appeared to be the predictors if the organizational commitment and the remaining two of them (age, tenure) did not prove to be directly associated with the organizational commitment. From all the predictors dimensions of organizational practices came out to be the most significant predictor of organizational commitment. The research proved that the most valued dimension of organizational commitment predictor was perceived competence development of the employee in the organization, followed by procedural justice, distributive justice, organizational support being provided to the employees, and autonomy or empowerment given to the employees by the organization. The responsibility of the organization and the management of the organization is, hence, to keep a record of these aspects and respond to them in an appropriate manner to increase organizational commitment in their employees. en_US
