dc.description.abstract Small scale IT and software development organizations have grown in numbers in the outgoing decade. This is because the size and turnover of the overall market. Technological advancements at the infrastructure level have also motivated this growth. This is posed overreaching requirement to ensure quality within time and cost since time to market has reduced and the competition has increased. To survive in a comparative environment Small Software Enterprises (SSEs) need to produce quality software systems. Software Testing is one of and the most important activity to ensure quality. Another dimension to contention is that we have research and development for larger setups and for more matured software development practices but the main growth is in the small and medium sector enterprises where software testing is carried out as an ad-hoc or an add-on activity. At first step in this study we have explored the state of software testing process adoption in local Small Software Enterprises (SSEs). Next we have collected and analyzed the opinion of local Small Software Enterprises (SSEs) on factors (explored from literature) affecting software testing process adoption in local Small Software Enterprises (SSEs). We have done this using survey as research strategy and online questionnaire as research tool. In the second part this study analyzed the associations between Software Enterprise Size (Number of Employees) and TMMI level-2 process areas using Chi-Square test. Chi-Square test is further applied on the survey data to analyze associations between each TMMi level-2 process area and the output of testing phase in local Small Software Enterprises (SSEs). en_US
