dc.description.abstract Now days, interaction with touch screen mobiles using thumb is a common practice. Techniques have been developed to provide easily operate the mobiles by using the thumb. These techniques are rather inefficient in terms of time and error. In this research study, we have proposed model CoGMI that describes an interaction technique with the combination of coordinated gestures (drag gestures) and direct touch. The proposed model could be helpful in minimizing the issues such as distant targets reach, selection of distant targets, and accidental selection of targets, occlusion problem, and accuracy. We have conducted a formative study for the early evaluation of CoGMI. Our focus is to find how the users respond to the new technique. The results suggest that most of the users found CoGMI technique is helpful in the selection of the far targets than stretching the thumb on large touch screen mobiles. en_US
