dc.description.abstract Manzalai 01, Chanda Deep 01 and Kahi 01wells are used in the thesis for petrophysical analysis were drilled in the Kohat subbasin. Kohat sub basin is part of upper Indus basin. Kohat sub basin is located in the western foothills of Himalayas in northern Pakistan which includes Kohat Plateaus and Bannu Depression. It is bounded by MBT in north, salt range thrust, Kalabagh fault and Surgar range in south, Kurram fault in west and river Indus in east. Kohat Plateaus is rich in hydrocarbon production. Petroleum system of this areas is different because of different age hydrocarbon production horizon .No conform single source rock, more than one source rock in the area. Main reservoir rocks is Lockhart and Hangu of Paleocene age, Lumshiwal formation of cretaceous and Samana Suk, Shinawari, Datta of Jurassic. Seal are Patala formation shaly zones with in Lumshiwal Formation. Due to high deformation mostly structural traps are in this area. From the petrophysical analysis of Manzalai Chanda Deep and Kahi. It shows that Manzalai and Chanda Deep are hydrocarbon producing while Kahi is uneconomical. Lockhart and Hangu is main producing horizon while Lumshiwal, Samana Suk, Shinawari and Datta are secondary producing horizon en_US
