dc.description.abstract Current research is carried out in Missa Keswal area located in upper Indus basin of Pakistan. It is a compressional regime, which is dominated by reverse faults. 2D Structural interpretation is carried out in order to understand the geology, geodynamic and to identify the structures. Attribute analysis is done to identify the presence of hydrocarbons. Migrated seismic section of 12 lines were obtained out of which seven(7) dip lines and five(5) strike lines , well logs of wells Missa Keswal -01 and Missa Keswal -02 are used in the present research.Time and depth structure maps were constructed. Velocity modeling was carried out by utilizing velocity panels.A complete petroleum system exists in the study area where the (shale) of Patala Formation is acting as a source rock, carbonates of Chorgali Formation act as the reservoir and shales of Murree Formation provide the possible seal. Structure identified is a pop up structure which is a two-way fault and two-way dip bounded closure. Two attributes namely Mean Peak Amplitude and Variance in amplitude provide positive results in the given area, both indicate an amplitude anomaly at Missa Keswal -01 and Missa Keswal -02 thus confirming the presence of the structure. en_US
