Abstract:
The research study aims to set up a policy that is intended to leverage information and
communication technologies for the support of healthcare system in Pakistan. There are
numerous precedents are accessible which refer many different modalities to reify the notion of
Information Communication Technologies to propagate healthcare services across the board.
It is obvious that in Pakistan, dearth of basic healthcare amenities claim the lives of many
innocent natives every year; which is why that ICT deployment to regenerate the healthcare
sector can mitigate all such growing concerns. The eminent medical organizations like Shifa
International, PIMS, and KRL of Islamabad have already been working on Information and
Communication Technologies to finesse the patients inhabiting in remote areas with the help of
mobile and computer technologies.
To give exploratory analysis of ICT prospects on the turf of Pakistan, fifteen interviews
are conducted to elicit useful insights from the seasoned professionals from estimable healthcare
institutions; the findings of the research display many of the subtle facts and figures which is to
pave the way for successive researches on ICT, since its influence been beyond description.
Consequently, the research study draws an incisive conclusion while showing that ICT
now becomes an inevitable part of healthcare sector and the Government is ought to step up to
the plate to foster the development of ICT in healthcare sector. Furthermore, each healthcare
institution should set a few chunk of capital aside for the establishment of collaborative ICT
deployment in Pakistan.
