| dc.description.abstract | Information assurance and cyber security is a major concern for all type of companies who are operating within and outside of their homelands. In today’s competitive environment every one want to have safe and secure access of their confidential data, for which companies and business are investing more to protect these assets. CCURE IT is of the aim to provide services which assures confidentiality, integrity and availability of organization confidential assets. Due to increase of information technology and its impacts of local and multinational companies, they are in more demand of services for Information assurance and cyber security. The purpose of the project work is to identify and highlight the implementation of best project management practices at CCURE IT to overcome their project related problems. The basic purpose of the study is to realize the importance of adopting standardized processes for undertaking projects and use of Information Technology to support the business activities. With the help of available literature we have been able to identify the Best Project Management practices followed by the businesses of their kind. Most of the companies have adopted different project management tool and techniques, which results in efficient management and quality of projects undertaken. CCURE IT is one of the best companies who are putting their all efforts to provide information security and awareness to its clients. CCURE IT is facing the problem of cost overrun by 30% of the actual cost of the project. Through literature review and information collected through different interview sessions held with the management of the company, we have been able to identify the two major causes of cost overrun are scope creep and lack of effective human resource management. The best solution to the problem of CCURE IT is to adopt the standardized processes, tool and techniques for their project activities, which can results in effective control and management of different tasks under taken. We have proposed the implement PMBOK knowledge areas and process groups in the first phase for the project planning and human resource management. However major recommendations are to proper documentation and management of project scope and change management, because without proper mechanism for scope and change management the project costs increases and results in low profitability. | en_US |
