Abstract:
In most of the developing countries like Pakistan, the children and women are at priority of various poverty alleviation schemes, sponsored by the donor agencies. Poverty may be overcome by providing the economic and educational opportunities to women and children along with independence to take benefit from such opportunities (Fatima, 2009). During 2002 to 2006, an increase in the literacy rate from 45 percent to 54 percent and admission from 42 percent to 52 percent has observed The World Bank, 2011(as cited in Tarar et al., 2014). Pakistan Microfinance Network (2005) stated that gender targeting is ineffective and more tilted towards male credit clients rather than female clients. This might be reason that the microfinance sector of Pakistan lacking behind as compared to the other parts of the world.
