Abstract:
We have designed a Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) based on
website server. The PAC System workstations to VPS, it comprises of an image acquisition machine, a workstation and a RHEL Server with IBM DB2 Database. In the PAC System the patient initial data is saved to the database with a particular MR Number or patient ID. Doctors can easily enter medical record of patients, search record and update existing record along with their reports e.g. CT scan and X-Ray. Patient’s CT scan and X-Ray reports are acquired from acquisition machine and are saved with matching patient ID in database. Patient’s record can be searched by First Name, Last Name, Patient ID and Date. Lossless Compression is applied to Patient’s Record to save storage. The PAC System is now connected with the VPS (Virtual Private Server) so Doctor, Admin and Patients can now access the Record anywhere, all anyone need is an internet connection. Android a pplication is designed for the patient so any patient can now access (Read-Only) his/her record using h issmart phone using his MR Number and Last Name combined. Using VPS other hospitals can also interconnect with a hospital to give easy access to Doctor/Specialists and Patients from interconnected hospitals.
