dc.description.abstract | Android Based Robot Control is based on the idea of controlling a robotic car equipped witha clipper arm and IP camera by an android mobile. The end user sits on the android mobile and acts as a client and requests the two servers namely the robot and the IP camera for various actions and live video streaming respectively which can be utilized for various applications such as a handicapped person for fetching objects while alone at home or by different security forces for surveillance of locations in which human presence is risky or simply small enough for a human to access properly and completely. The project can also beused by bomb disposal squads specially in Pakistan where terrorism is at its peak. The android application on which the end user sits is developed as to provide easy to use GUI(Graphical User Interface) which enables a person with less or absolutely no technical knowledge and seems like a game. The Communication is based on the client serverarchitecture through HTTP clients using WiFi(wireless fidelity) as a transmission medium. The advantage of using WiFi is that we have remote access and elongated range and ad-hoc networking between the user and robot and security. The IP camera provides JPEG images which serve as the guidance to the end user on the android mobile informing them of the current scenario and environment for performing the required actions to accomplish the goals.The advantage of using JPEG image s is that it gives us a reduced data rate in communication. The robot and IP camera have a assigned IP address and receive commands through built in WiFi transmitter available in android mobiles. The data is relayed using a router which enhances range and efficiency of transmission. | en_US |
