Abstract:
The rising number of terrorist attacks all around the world have given rise to a global demand for effective security mechanisms. The systems currently in use have repeatedly failed in the face of attacks and as a result countless lives have been lost. Infiltration of terrorists into high priority government and military establishments is an issue not to be taken lightly as it radiates the danger of important secrets being leaked along with the obvious life and property damage.
The project aims to address the security issues prevalent in the country and worldwide. It is designed as a completely autonomous system. The system is capable of working without any human interference and can alert any person of a security breach. Moreover, the system also provides auto targeting according to the position of the intrusion. The basic sensing modules are ultrasonic sensors. Two sensors are mounted on a servo motor which rotates 180 degrees to completely scan the area. The ultrasonic sensors continuously emit waves. The sensors are controlled by microcontrollers which use calculations according to the timing of emitted and reflected waves received from an object to determine its position or location. The position determined by the sensors is then relayed to another micro controller which controls another servo motor. This motor is mounted with a laser which turns on and points to the location of detected intrusion. Meanwhile, the sensor continues its surveillance task. The second motor is also mounted with a camera which provides a video stream of the location of the intrusion so that it can be viewed by a supervisor safely and he/she can determine the nature of the breach. The whole system is also connected to a user interface which shows a continuous scanning graph and marks at the position of intrusion. An alarm is also sounded and a log maintained for each intrusion.
