dc.description.abstract Land mine detection is a dangerous and complex task. Mostly de-mining operations are done with hand held metal detectors in which the operator has also chances of getting seriously injured or killed. Our project which is Autonomous Land Mine Detector is working autonomously in a specified area to find the mines buried under ground by searching and marking them and to initiate the de-mining process after marking the exact location of the land mines. We are using a four wheeler DC motor driving platform as a vehicle. On which controller, sensors, GPS, GSM and marking spray system are installed. We test run the Autonomous Land Mine Detector in a user defined map. Vehicle moves in a zigzag motion across the whole map for searching. For collision avoidance it changes its path. When any metal or mine comes in its path it detects with the help of metal sensor and marks the position by mounted spray system. It sends its co-ordinates taken by GPS through gsm and continues the search. Robot can also be controlled with separate remote control module to search mines manually. en_US
