| dc.description.abstract | The use of GPS has advanced dramatically in last few years. GPS can be used for the safety of people travelling on the roads. Lots of road accidents take place in daily life due to over speed. People over speeding because there is no proper monitoring system. So people violate traffic rules and sometimes get away with it. To improve the system and minimize the probability of accidents and to ensure the safety of the people travelling on motorways and highways we came up with the GPS based data acquisition device as our final year project. GPS based data acquisition device is a small gadget that will be placed inside a vehicle. It will monitor the track record of the vehicle throughout the journey on the highways and motorways.Check points will be declared for the whole track. When there is a violation made it will lock the speed at that instant and will save it to the external storage. While leaving the motorways they will have to return back the device and will have to pay for the violations they made.So there is no chance of making a violation and getting away with it. When the monitoring system is improved probability of accidents taking place in our daily life will be reduced. | en_US |
