dc.description.abstract Saving power in a country like Pakistan is very important. Government has not built any type of dams yet. Day by day energy demand is increasing so methods must be introduced to save power wherever possible. Our proposed project is to save power from street light. Street lights shine during whole night. Thus an effective method to low energy consumption is to introduce a smart system that will help us in minimizing glow of light at night. At midnight the traffic on roads become low but still lights glow with their full intensity. We have an effective method that would make us possible to minimize energy. We will use Infrared sensor. When a vehicle passes by, an interrupt is generated. That interrupt will glow next 10 to 15 street lights, then they would become dim and then they would be in off condition. We would be using solar panel to do this thing. Solar panel will take energy just from sun not from Wapda connection. GSM module is also implemented such that we are in position to on and off lights with help of mobile phone. Battery of solar panel is also monitored. When battery is low say 30% then we will make connection of all circuit of project with wapda. This will only happen when there is no sunshine. Sensors like LDR, temperature sensor, gas sensor and humidity sensors will also be used and their values will be displayed on LCD. By using the proposed idea we will make it possible to reduce energy during night that is a big problem of Pakistan. en_US
