The Document and Information Management System (DIMS) is an automated workplace and paperless environment where documents are stored relevant to each user’s perspective, every user have got its separate dashboard where his/her roles and responsibilities are considered. It is an automated desk for the availability of all possible documents in any organization and a web-based application to facilitate the user to store, retrieve, organize, manage, share and locate documents easily. Documents are categorized into various categories which makes their storage and retrieval more efficient.
DIMS is implemented using ASP.NET. SQL Server is used for storing the documents as per the needs of the end-user requirements. Main modules of DIMS are document uploading, document storage, document searching, document modification, document tracking, document sharing, email facility and notifications facility. DIMS is developed to increase the organizational productivity by providing a system to automate the execution, thus reducing the manual paper-work. |
